Dastardly and Muttley in Their Flying Machines Illustration (Hanna-Barbera, 1991)

Outstanding pair of original studio drawings done for the creation of a hand-painted limited edition cel for the company’s Animation Art Program in the 1990s.
Great large image of Dick Dastardly and Muttley in their plane in hot pursuit of the Yankee Doodle Pigeon. There are two drawings in this lot. This first one is the initial rough art concept drawn by Iwoa Takamoto (1925 – 2007), on 12 field animation paper. The rough drawing is 6″ x 7″. The second drawing has Iwoa’s notes to Bob Singer for revision and clean-up for final drawing. Note: one drawing asks for Muttley to be corrected with his laughing pose. The correction is pasted into the drawing with the first pass on bottom left. One of the single largest drawings of these two characters we have seen. The clean-up drawing is from the hand of Mr. Bob Singer. Nice large image of 11″ x 13″. Iwao’s hand-written notes are on the bottom left side. Paper is approximately 15″ x 20″. What a lot, one drawing by Iwoa and one by Bob Singer. Stop The Pigeon!
